To ensure that the bridge over Zijkanaal I in Amsterdam will continue to function properly, Alewijnse realised the electrical engineering system and the controls (process automation). The bridge is a bascule bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge can be operated remotely from the control centre.
- Electric connection of the bridge
- power connection
- equipment cabinet, master switch, main distribution system, power and light distribution system and a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for the bridge controls
- electro-hydraulic drive
- two barriers with the accompanying system, each with an adjustable camera mast
- onshore traffic signs
- signs for shipping, including underpass signs
- electrical lighting system in the concrete equipment room
- facilities for the remote control system
- portable control panel (DBT) for local operation of the bridge
- cables
- operation and control of the bridge was realised using Siemens S7 315F PLC
- the fail safe PLC was equipped with a Profibus with a Profinet connection.
